Privacy Policy

Jobe AI ("Jobe," "we") tailors resumes and cover letters to specific jobs and watches the companies you choose for new roles. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to getajobe.ai and the Jobe app.

What we collect

• Account details: your Google account email address.
• Resume content: the resumes and cover letters you upload or select, anything you add about your experience, and the tailored versions Jobe creates. These usually include your name, contact details, and work history.
• Job search details: job links and descriptions, the companies you watch, your role filters, and how many resumes you've tailored.
• Billing details: your plan, subscription status, and Stripe customer and subscription IDs. Stripe collects your card details. We never see or store your full card number.
• Guest details: if you use Jobe without signing in, an anonymous ID stored in a cookie and a salted hash of your IP address, which we use to enforce usage limits.
• Notification details: if you turn on browser alerts, the push subscription your browser gives us.
• Technical logs: our hosting providers keep routine request and error logs.

How we use it

• To tailor your resumes and cover letters, and to find and show you relevant jobs.
• To run your account, process payments, and enforce plan limits.
• To send the job alerts you ask for.
• To provide support, fix problems, improve tailoring quality, and prevent abuse.
• To meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Google user data

When you sign in with Google, Jobe asks for the drive.file permission. It lets Jobe reach only the files you select in Google's file picker and the files Jobe creates for you. It does not let Jobe browse the rest of your Google Drive. We use it to:

• read your Google account email address so we can identify your account;
• read the resume and cover letter you select;
• create tailored copies in your Google Drive and update those copies as you review them.

We store Google access and refresh tokens so Jobe can do this work for you, including tailoring resumes for new jobs if your plan includes it. Your resume content is sent to Anthropic, as described below, so it can be tailored. We do not use Google user data for advertising, do not sell it, and do not use it to train generalized AI models.

Jobe's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can remove Jobe's access at any time from your Google Account permissions.

AI processing

Jobe uses Anthropic's Claude models to analyze job descriptions and tailor your documents. Your resume content and the job description are sent to Anthropic for this purpose. Anthropic's commercial terms say it does not train its models on this data by default.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the providers that run Jobe, and only as needed for their service:

• Google: sign-in, Google Drive and Docs storage.
• Anthropic: AI tailoring.
• Stripe: payments.
• Supabase: database hosting.
• Vercel: application hosting.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people or our rights, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business. We don't send your resume to employers. You choose what to do with it.

Tailoring records and access by our team

Each time Jobe tailors a resume, we save a record of that run. It can include the job, excerpts of your resume, and the edits Jobe suggested. Our team can view account data and these records to provide support, fix problems, check tailoring quality, and prevent abuse.

Cookies and browser storage

We use a cookie to keep you signed in and, for guests, a cookie that holds your anonymous ID. Your browser may also briefly store a draft of the job you're working on. We don't use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.

How long we keep it

• Guest resumes: if you don't create an account, we delete your resume and tailored documents after about 7 days, and the related records after about 31 days. Tailoring records, described above, can be kept longer. To have yours deleted, email us the job link you used so we can find them.
• Accounts: we keep your data until you ask us to delete your account. Deleting it removes your account data and tailoring records from our database, cancels your subscription, and revokes our Google access. Copies may remain in backups for a limited time, and we may keep what the law requires, such as payment records.
• Your Google Drive: files in your own Drive are yours. Deleting your Jobe account doesn't delete them.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information by emailing jobe.ai.files@gmail.com. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights under local law, including the right to complain to a data protection authority. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.

Security

We protect data in transit with encryption and limit who can access it. No online service is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Children

Jobe is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

International users

Our providers may process your information in the United States and other countries.

Changes

We may update this policy. We'll change the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email.
